The Vishnupad Temple is a revered Hindu shrine located on the banks of the Falgu (Phalgu) River in Gaya, Bihar, India. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is famed for housing a 40 cm-long footprint believed to be that of Vishnu himself, embedded in solid basalt rock and enclosed within a silver-plated basin. The temple is the spiritual heart of Gaya and a major center for the ancestral ritual of Pind Daan.Non-Hindus are generally not permitted inside the main sanctum. Devotees are advised to dress modestly, remove footwear, and observe silence during prayers. Photography inside is restricted. The temple is accessible from Gaya Railway Station (≈ 6 km) and Gaya Airport (≈ 10 km). The best time to visit is between September and April.
