Valmiki National Park
Valmiki National Park is Bihar’s only national park and a key biodiversity area in the West Champaran district along the India–Nepal border. Forming the core of the Valmiki Tiger Reserve, it anchors the eastern Himalayan Terai ecosystem and supports a thriving tiger population and rich cultural heritage.Valmiki National Park is both a conservation success and a cultural landmark—protecting endangered species, sustaining indigenous Tharu communities, and preserving a segment of India’s Himalayan Terai wilderness where ecological and mythological heritage converge.
